The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) and the Asociación Nacional de la Industria Química (ANIQ), the national chemical industry associations of the United States and Mexico, sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreeing to recognize the value of each organization's environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) programs known as Responsible Distribution and Responsabilidad Integral. The MOU recognizes that the associations' mutual programs work to reduce incidents and improve performance in EHS&S, and that sharing of information and best practices brings value to both associations and ultimately has a positive impact on the global marketplace, according to NACD.
"Responsible Distribution is at the core of everything we do here at NACD as we celebrate the program's 25th anniversary this year, and we are pleased to acknowledge our respective programs and enhance our international cooperation and sharing of best practices with ANIQ," says Eric R. Byer, president of NACD. "We have much in common as NACD and ANIQ members work to produce and distribute products in the safest and most secure methods possible. Enhancing relationships across international borders helps raise the bar for product management and improved performance both in the United States and Mexico."
