Donald Trump announces Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris will head the American Manufacturing Council.

At a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Donald Trump announces that Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris will head the American Manufacturing Council, reportedly describing Liveris as “one of the most respected businessmen in the world.” The council is “the principal private sector advisory committee to the Secretary of Commerce on manufacturing in the United States,” according to an article from CNN.

According to the article, Liveris credits Trump with creating a business climate that has energized Dow. The company will reportedly invest in a new innovation center in Michigan.  During the Republican primary, Liveris remarked on the influence of reality TV and the creation of the “Kardashian presidency,” according to CNN.
