Nationwide Boiler Embarks On Massive Mobile Unit

Nationwide Boiler begins production on high capacity saturated steam mobile boiler.

Nationwide Boiler Inc. begins production on what it deems the “world’s largest mobile boiler.”  The 125,000 lb/hr low NOx O type boiler is being built by Babcock & Wilcox and will be mounted on a custom 6-axle low boy trailer. Designed at 750 psig, the boiler will provide a range of operating pressures for saturated steam applications from 250 psig to 675 psig. The boiler will be equipped with a low NOx natural gas/future oil burner, FD fan and TEFC motor with VFD, fully metered combustion controls, a NEMA 4X panel, EconoStak economizer, stub stack and all flues, ducts and valving. An optional CataStak SCR will be available for down to 2.5 ppm NOx requirements. The boiler system is scheduled for service this fall, according to the company.

An earlier unit, a 120,000 lb/hr, 400 psi design saturated steam boiler that was reportedly the largest to date, according to the company, was recently sold to a brewery in the Southeast.
