The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) names Brittany Mountjoy as manager of government relations. She will focus on international trade issues and manage the association's International Trade Committee and International Regulatory Compliance Network (IRCN), according to SOCMA.
Mountjoy comes to SOCMA from DuPont, where she worked as an international government affairs program specialist in Washington, DC, leading advocacy strategies to drive business objectives in strategic growth markets, with a specific focus on global issues such as trade. Prior to DuPont, Mountjoy led the Alliance to Feed the Future, a coalition of 123 members comprised of trade associations, universities and think tanks. Additionally, she worked on food biotechnology and food safety issues at the International Food Information Council (IFIC).
Mountjoy is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where she earned two bachelor's degrees - one in animal and poultry sciences and another in international relations. She also earned her master's degree at Virginia Tech, focusing on the public policy impact of food biotechnology. Mountjoy currently is working toward her law degree at American University Washington College of Law.
