Intecsea Names First Woman President

Geeta Thakorlal become president of the oil and gas offshore engineering consultancy.

Geeta Thakorlal is the new president of oil and gas offshore engineering consultancy, Intecsea. The company’s first female president has more than 25 years of experience in the international oil and gas sector.

Thakorlal, who takes over for outgoing president Neil Mackintosh, previously served as global head of Intecsea's Offshore Select business and senior vice president for the Intecsea Australia/New Zealand region. She has predominantly focused in upstream efforts for greenfield and brownfield offshore and onshore projects.

Thakorlal was the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) 2014 winner of the Women in Resources People's Choice Award, the 2014 Finalist of Outstanding Women in Resources in Western Australia and was awarded the Female Champion of Change award by Consult Australia in 2015.

Geeta earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical and materials engineering from the University of Auckland. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
