Brexit is already impacting science and not in a good way. That’s the conclusion of the UK’s national academies, which sent a letter to the government stating that the EU referendum challenges the UK’s world-leading position in science, medicine and engineering, according to an article from the BBC. The presidents of the Royal Society, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Royal Irish Academy and the Learned Society of Wales reportedly authored the letter.
