ESBES Welcomes Biochemical Engineers To Dublin

One of the world’s leading biochemical engineering events is headed to Dublin, Ireland next year.
The European Symposium of Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES) takes place September 11-14, 2016 in Dublin, Ireland, bringing together leading industrialists and academics in the field. Confirmed speakers include Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies Chief Executive Officer Steve Bagshaw and Professor Massimo Morbidelli from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. Bagshaw will discuss the increasing importance of biochemical engineering in industry while Morbidelli will highlight efficiency gains and cost savings in the biopharmaceutical sector.

Around 350 delegates and speakers are expected to attend and abstracts are still being accepted for the conference. Key themes include bioenergy and biofuels, cell and tissue engineering, marine biotechnology and engineering, nanobiotechnology and the bio-based economy. The abstract submission deadline is January 14, 2016.

First held in 1996, ESBES is hosted by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). The conference takes place at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Dublin, a city with strong ties to the biochemical engineering community.
