SOCMA Hosts 93rd Annual Dinner And Awards Showcase

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) is returning to the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square on December 8, 2014, for its 93rd Annual Dinner honoring Performance Improvement Award winners and featuring a Leadership and Business Development Speaker Showcase.

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) is returning to the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square on December 8, 2014, for its 93rd Annual Dinner honoring Performance Improvement Award winners and featuring a Leadership and Business Development Speaker Showcase. Networking opportunities include speed networking, a cocktail reception and a cordials reception after dinner.

The event will recognize SOCMA’s Performance Improvement, Educational Outreach and Sustainability Award winners. The awards honor the achievements of ChemStewards participants in environmental, health, safety and security measures, as well as their outreach and support of local educational programs in areas of chemistry, and implementation of sustainability practices to improve their facilities and communities in which they live.

SOCMA will make a donation of $7,100 to the American Chemical Society’s Scholars Program, which provides scholarships to underrepresented minority students pursuing a degree in chemistry or a related field.

For the second consecutive year, the Annual Dinner features a Leadership and Business Development Speaker Showcase preceding the evening’s festivities.Peter Tanous, an economist with Lynx Investment Advisory, LLC, is returning to the showcase to provide an outlook on the global economy and Peter Brown of Notch Communications will discuss, “Branding Essentials for Business Success.”
