German and Dutch researchers receive DECHEMA honor

The German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA), Frankfurt, has presented the 2014 Prize of the Max Buchner Research Foundation jointly to Dr. Karl Mayrhofer of Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung, Düsseldorf, Germany, and Dr. Frank Hollmann, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands (Figure). They will share a €20,000 award.Mayrhofer received the award for his work on corrosion-resistant electrocatalysts for  energy conversion systems, and Hollmann for research on green, light- and electricity-driven enzymatic redox reactions for organic synthesis.For more details, see: http://www.dechema.de/en/57_2014_e.html.
