The German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA), Frankfurt, has presented the 2014 Prize of the Max Buchner Research Foundation jointly to Dr. Karl Mayrhofer of Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung, Düsseldorf, Germany, and Dr. Frank Hollmann, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands (Figure). They will share a €20,000 award.Mayrhofer received the award for his work on corrosion-resistant electrocatalysts for energy conversion systems, and Hollmann for research on green, light- and electricity-driven enzymatic redox reactions for organic synthesis.For more details, see:
