Catalyst Researcher Wins Award

The German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Frankfurt, and the German Catalysis Society, Frankfurt, presented the 2014 Otto Roelen Medal to Professor Harald Gröger of Bielefield University, Bielefield, Germany, on March 13th. The medal, which generally has been awarded every two years since 1997, recognizes industrially relevant achievements in catalysis and includes a cash prize of €5,000.

Gröger was honored for his work on developing reaction sequences that combine biocatalysis and chemocatalysis for the enantioselective synthesis of chiral building blocks.
