Honeywell International, Morris Township, N.J., recently announced Jack Bolick, president of Honeywell Process Solutions, has been named Frost & Sullivan's 2008 North American Process Automation Lifetime Achievement Award winner. The honor is given each year to an individual whose career is characterized by a legacy rich in accomplishment and positive influence in the industry he/she serves. The award acknowledges the recipient’s vision, style of management, and dedication to spurring excellence and innovative technology-based solutions for the community.
In 1998, Bolick joined Honeywell with more than 20 years of diverse business experience with a focus on semiconductor and manufacturing materials supply, global marketing and manufacturing strategies that support high-growth markets. He became president of Honeywell Process Solutions in October 2002. He is being honored for his inspirational leadership and dedication to improving business performance for customers.
“Jack Bolick is recognized in the industry for having revitalized Honeywell’s process solutions business culture, nurturing the drive toward innovation and placing customers first,” says Art Robbins, president North America Frost & Sullivan. “Leading customers have expressed their faith in his stewardship, accessibility and technology foresight that have helped Honeywell sustain its growth.”
In recent years, Bolick focused on transforming Honeywell’s image from a distributed control system manufacturer to a total solutions provider. He was prompt in identifying the needs of customers and translating those needs into an organizational vision that created a pipeline of innovative products and technology such as the OneWireless industrial wireless network. As a result, Honeywell has one of the largest installed bases of process automation systems in the world and continues to reshape the process control industry by providing industrial plants with solutions that increase safety, reliability and efficiency.
“The strategy is simple. We start with understanding the customer needs, and then customize the right solution with the right technology,” said Bolick, who holds a master’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University, a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Western Carolina State University in North Carolina, and a Six Sigma black belt certification.
Honeywell International, a $38 billion diversified technology and manufacturing company, serves customers in the aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials industries.
