BOC Edwards has moved its key operations in Japan to a new, purpose-built complex in Yachiyo-city, Chiba (near Tokyo). The new facility will accommodate functions previously housed at facilities in Narashino and Ina, including exhaust gas management demonstration and testing, pump and abatement customization, and turbomolecular pump development and manufacturing. Customer sales and support teams will also be located at the new site.
The new 6200 square meter facility, to be staffed by more than 220 employees, was specifically designed to support the expanding activities of BOC Edwards in Japan.
“The opening of our new facility will be an important step for BOC Edwards and demonstrates long-term commitment to our electronics customers in Japan”, said Hiroshi Kusano, president of BOC Edwards in Japan. “State-of-the-art operations at the new site will allow us to continue our focus on enhancing product quality and improving lead times–critical factors for next-generation flat panel display and semiconductor manufacturing processes.”
BOC Edwards will maintain offices in Tokyo for its headquarters staff in Japan, and the Ina site will be restructured to accommodate remanufacturing for turbo, dry and rotary vacuum pumps.
