In case of drip legs from steam, we use full port gate valves. Is it mandatory to take full port valve & butt welded connection for all steam lines?

Re: Are Full Port Valves Necessary For All Steam Lines?
5 November 2008 at 1:29pmFull port valves are generally specified for steam line drip legs and for blow-down lines where some solid particles could accumulate. I don't think it is necessary to recommend full port valves for all steam lines. It is common to specify Globe valves and other types of control valves at steam lines depending upon their specific needs.
