I'm having a problem regarding material and energy balance. How do I add petroleum products such as naphtha, diesel, kerosine, waxes in CHEMCAD?

CHEMCAD has a crude oil database for over 200 crudes with the option of specifying your own hydrocarbon properties.

This feature is available under Thermophysical >Pseudocomponent Curves

You can select ASTM D86 TBP Inter-conversion method and specify the appropriate curve temperature cut ranges.

Now select Distillation Curve Type (D86 at 1 atm, TBP at 1 atm, TBP at 10 mmHg plus others).

Now specify your TBP and API Gravity curves followed by Light End analysis.

CHEMCAD has distillation UnitOp Tower in which you can specify the side-stream product distillation points such as for naphtha ASTM 90% point at 360°F and for diesel ASTM D86 90% point at 500 °F.

A short handbook Process Simulation Refinery Processes is available from www.chemcad.co.uk, for which I have attached a sampler.
