Re: How do I include seawater in the components list for a closed-cycle system?4 November 2013 at 10:11am Last edited: 4 November 2013 at 10:14am
You can create a User Component in CHEMCAD and then regress seawater thermal properties into your new user component.
Go to Thermophysical > Component Database > Clone Component then select water.
You can now change thermal properties to match your seawater properties highly dependent on salinity. See Seawater Property Tables attached below for additional information.
I am trying to model a closed-cycle system based on the Rankine cycle to be used between two temperature differences in the sea. I would therefore like to have seawater in the components list but don't know how to go about doing this. I assume there would be a difference in using seawater and pure water in the simulation?
