At what distance shall the reducer/expander be situated in pump suction and discharge lines? Is there any specific distance limit on it from the specified nozzles based on the line sizes?

3 September 2009 at 1:29pmThe reducer from the suction piping to the pump inlet flange should be mounted right on the pump inlet flange.
The increaser from the pump outlet flange to the discharge piping should be mounted right on the pump outlet flange.
Further details can be seen from the article "The Pitfalls of Pump Piping" that can be downloaded from my Web site at http://www.practicalpumping.com/articles.php.
