How do you determine the type of strainer for the suction line? Which is the best: Y-type, T-type or conical? Does it contribute significant friction loss?
Have an insight or suggestion?

Re: Suction line strainer
21 December 2006 at 1:29pmThis depends entirely on the type of liquid being pumped. The most popular is a basket type double strainer, and it will cause considerable friction losses in the suction line unless it is cleaned out frequently.
