Please advise as to the proper mounting of 6,000 gallon tanks and above when used as chemical reactor/receiver inside of a building. At our facility, we have several mounted to the underside of structural I-beam. The mounting pads are inverted on the tank with holes drilled in the underside of the I-beam with the tank bolted directly to it. I have never seen this before. Please advise.

Re: Underside tank mounting
2 July 2007 at 1:29pmThe underside mounting is not common practice due to installation typically being easier with the support lugs positioned above the structural I-beams. However, if mechanical strength requirements can be met through adequate fastening, such as anchor bolts and welding, you may want to inspect the fastening for any corrosion.
