Recommended for this application is a vertical, center-mounted mixer with a 0.3 meter diameter, 4-blade, pitched-blade turbine, operating at 5 revolutions per second. The impeller should be located 0.2 to 0.3 meters off the bottom. The motor needs to be 1 kW or larger.
If the soap is less viscous at a higher operating temperature, four 0.07 meter wide, vertical baffles on the walls of the tank may be necessary to prevent uncontrolled swirling and to promote vertical mixing.
