Can you offer specifications regarding the ideal RPM required for optimum mixing of lime slurry with effluent for optimum neutralization?
Details of our system and specification:
Our daily inflow at ETP is 20,000 cubic meter per day.
We are preparing and using 2.5% slurry of hydrated lime.
As per our understanding, we have considered seven minutes of retention time in each tank and according to that, tank volume is 95 cubic meter (6.5x6.5x2.25(meter)).

20 September 2011 at 1:29pmTo prepare the slurry of hydrated lime in a 9.5 cubic meter basin, a 2.0 meter diameter, 4-blade, 45 degree pitched-blade impeller turning at 1 rev/sec (60 rpm) should draw in the lime and wet it. The mixer will require a 0.375 kW motor.
To keep the slurry of hydrated lime in suspension in a 9.5 cubic meter basin, a 1.5 meter diameter, 4-blade, 45 degree pitched-blade impeller turning at 1 rev/sec (60 rpm) should draw in the lime and wet it. The mixer will require a 0.187 kW motor. The answers by this expert are based on the best available interpretation of the information provided.
