Blade angle is measured from the horizontal. So increasing the blade angle from 45 degrees to 60 degrees will increase the power number from 1.37 to 2.32. That increase of 70% will be reflected in an increased power requirement. Calculating the power requirement follows the same calculation method provided previously, but with the new power number.
Calculating the power number requires the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. Most power numbers are obtained experimentally.
