I want to design a multi-concentric shaft for a fixed tank unit of 2m3 capacity. The mixing materials are PVC and DOP for blending of Plastisol.
The unit has to have a solid shaft fitted with cowels for dispersion and the hollow shaft will move in contra-motion and shall have scrappers for scrapping the layer formations on the tank inside walls during mixing.
Can you suggest a reference book?

Re: How do I design a multi-concentric shaft for a fixed tank unit?
23 March 2010 at 1:29pmTry the "Handbook of Industrial Mixing: Science and Practice," Edward L. Paul (Editor), Victor Atiemo-Obeng (Editor), and Suzanne M. Kresta (Editor), North American Mixing Forum, John Wiley and Sons, 2003.
You will not find a complete design guide for the mixer you describe. That sort of information is manufacturer specific and considered proprietary by the company making the equipment. The handbook will give you some basic guidance on the design requirements.
