I would like to install feed filters in a Kerosene hydrotreater unit upstream of reactor. The feed to the filter is straight-run light kerosene from crude units. These are the typical operating conditions: Feed flow: 290 m3/hr Feed Temp: 135-150 degrees C Pressure at filter: 4-5 kg/cm2g Viscosity: 0.357cP at 145 degrees C Typical dirt loading: 5-6 mg/liter (magnetic in nature) Filtering size: 25 micron Which type of filter (basket/cartridge/cartridge with backwash) should I choose and why?
Have an insight or suggestion?

Re: For oil refinery applications, which type of filter should I choose?16 March 2011 at 1:29pmA blowback sintered metal filter would be ideal here since these filter vendors have much experience in oil refinery type of applications.
