I am looking to filter the fine particles from oil (smaller than 10um.) The oil viscosity is quite high, approximately 400cP, the filtration is a batch-wise process where we need to filter about 100kg per batch. The solid concentration in the liquid is very, very low --

Re: What's the best way to filter fine particle from oil?
17 May 2010 at 1:29pmI really can't offer a suggestion since they say the solids are very, very low at <5%. Five percent solids are not low – they are fairly high. If indeed very, very low, then I would suggest cartridges but if 5% I would recommend a filter press. The oil temperature isn't stated, which also is an important factor.
