We have a slurry of 50% solid concentration with solvent, hexane and oil. For closed/gas tight filtration, what you will suggest for 10 to 80 micron particles to get separated and extract maximum oil?

Re: Extracting Maximum Oil From The Slurry2 December 2008 at 1:29pmThe duty is not stated, which has a major impact on the selection. If small, then an enclosed Nutsch filter would be appropriate. If large, then an aulked/gasketed filter press might work. The application would be ideal for a candle filter, but the high 50% solids (if real) would probably rule out this technology.
