Re: Is there any heat exchanger for gas-gas heat transfer working at 1350°C?30 December 2013 at 9:47am
I do not have expertise in materials. However, I know that some carbon steels have been used at temperatures in the range of 1000°C -- much of this depends on the pressure rating requirements. High temperature materials like ceramics may be used under these extreme conditions, but pose mechanical strength issues.
Is there any heat exchanger for gas-gas heat transfer working at 1350°C? What about 1100°C? What kind of material is used to manufacture these types of heat exchangers?
