How do I calculate the heat exchanger duty for storage tanks? Is it enough to calculate the heat loss from the tank for this purpose?

1 December 2009 at 1:29pmThe calculation of heat gain/loss from a storage tank must include all environmental conditions such as solar radiation, wind, extremes of temperature and precipitation before a heat exchanger can be designed to maintain a temperature control point. One should also consider the feed to the storage tank and whether that provides a larger load than the environmental conditions.
