Process-side Delta temperatures across my heat exchangers are higher than design values. We are operating them on higher inlet temperatures of process side. How will these conditions affect my system?

Re: How will varying temperatures affect my system?
9 October 2009 at 1:29pmThe simple approach is to assume that the value of overall heat transfer coefficient has not changed and utilize the calculation of mean temperature driving force to determine what the change in heat duty will be. Simply solve Q=U*A*LMTD and M*Cp*DT (HOT) = M*Cp*DT(COLD) simultaneously to determine the expected terminal temperatures for a fixed value of U and A.
