How do I calculate the overall and individual heat transfer coefficients in a jacketed vessel using a bladed disk turbine?
Any empirical equations to calculate?

Re: How do I calculate heat transfer coefficients?
18 September 2009 at 1:29pmI would suggest utilizing the correlation published by J. R. Bourne in which the power input per unit mass is utilized to calculate the inside film coefficient for an agitated tank. The jacket side coefficient will have to be calculated based on the geometry of the jacket and whether or not there are agitating nozzles installed for sensible heating/cooling or if there is condensation.
