I am a former DuPonter from Singapore and now working with a new company. I would like to know the design and process calculations for evaporative cooling using spray nozzles on top of a belt conveyor carrying rubber at 450ºF.
Have an insight or suggestion?

Re: Evaporative cooling calculation
24 October 2007 at 1:29pmThe process of evaporative cooling by spraying water on top of hot rubber is a form of direct contact heat transfer in which the droplets quickly come to the adiabatic saturation temperature of the surrounding vapor. There is a good section on direct contact heat transfer in Process Heat Transfer by Hewitt, Shires and Bott that I recommend you consult.
