I need to reduce the un-burnt carbon in a lignite-fired thermal power plant. I need to reduce it by 20% via a chemical treatment.
What chemicals are suited for the above purpose? And what dosing?
Have an insight or suggestion?

Re: How do I improve combustion of lignite coal?
2 March 2009 at 1:29pmI am not aware of any commonly used chemical additives for improved combustion of lignite coal. There has been some research done in this area, but chemical addition is not commonly practiced.
My suggestion is to use mechanical methods to improve the sizing and classification of the lignite coal before it is fed to the boiler.
This also will result in improved combustion of the lignite coal.
