Mixing thixotropic fluid

Q: I need to mix a 4000 cp thixotropic fluid on a 10-in. diameter by 15-in. 5-gallon container. I am planning to use two 6.5-in. plastic propellers placed on a 14.5-in. shaft. The mixing will be at 180 rpm. I need to know the torque required for this.

A: A good estimate of the actual torque is 1 in-lb. or 15 in-oz.
Because most small drives do not have much margin and viscosity
estimates are often wrong, a drive with some excess capacity is
strongly recommended.
