Transmitter nozzle orientation
Q: I have a question about the installation of a DP Level Transmitter. Is there any obligation to select both nozzles of a side DP transmitter in the same orientation? I have heard tube length shall be restricted in high temperature services to preventing condensation and we have to select both nozzles in same orientation. Please clarify.
A: You can purge the upper sensing line with a gas compatible with your process (e.g. nitrogen) to keep the line free of condensate. The gas purge flow should be small and constant.
