Remove entrapped air prior to packing

Q: How can entrapped air be removed before packing material, such as sand particles, conveyed pneumatically?

A: Several manufactures make a cone hopper with sintered metal walls. A vacuum pump removes the air. Also, increasing the surface area on a chute can help remove excess air. Sometimes the air gets entrapped because the receiver air lock is not vented. This fluidizes the solids as they leave the air lock. You may want to check on that.
