Company Information
On July 1, 2000, Chevron Corp. and Phillips Petroleum Co., now ConocoPhillips, combined their worldwide petrochemical businesses, excluding Chevron’s oronite additives business, to form Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LLC. Chevron and ConocoPhillips each own 50% of Chevron Phillips Chemical.
The company and its affiliates produce chemicals that are essential to manufacturing over 70,000 consumer and industrial products. Chemical products include olefins and polyolefins, aromatics, alpha olefins, styrenics, specialty chemicals, piping and proprietary plastics. These products serve a wide array of markets and range from food packaging to cleaner fuels, biodegradable solvents to medical devices.
Chevron Phillips Chemical, with its joint venture partners, currently has 36 production facilities located in the United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Brazil, Singapore, China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Belgium.
Additionally, the company has six research, technology and quality control centers worldwide. These facilities provide full-scale petrochemical and polymer research including new catalyst development, product and process development, and commercial process support. The company has approximately $7 billion in assets, operates 42 manufacturing and research facilities in nine countries, and employs more than 5,000 people worldwide.

Greg Garland
president and CEO
Garland was elected to this position on April 1, 2008. He previously served as senior vice president, planning and strategic transactions. Garland’s experience includes general manager Qatar/Middle East for Phillips Petroleum Co. (now ConocoPhillips), a position he was named to in 1997. In 1995 he served as general manager, natural gas liquids. In 1994 he was named manager of planning and development in planning and technology. From 1992 to 1994, Garland was K-Resin manager in the K-Resin business unit. Garland began his career with Phillips in 1980 as a project engineer for the Plastics Technical Center. Between 1982 and 1986, Garland worked as a sales engineer for Phillips' plastics resins and from 1986 to 1988 was a business service manager for advanced materials. From 1988 to 1989, he was business development director in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1989, he became olefins manager for chemicals. Garland received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1980. He is a member of the Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board for Texas A&M University
Craig Glidden
senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary
Glidden was a founder of McFall Glidden Sherwood & Breitbeil, P.C., a business litigation firm focusing on complex commercial disputes, including energy litigation. Glidden began his legal career in 1983 as an associate in the commercial litigation department of Shackleford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans, in Tampa, Fla. In 1988, he became a partner with Beirne, Maynard & Parsons LLP, where he specialized in energy and commercial litigation. In 1996, he formed his own firm, Glidden Partners LLP. He has also served as a law practice management consultant to corporate legal departments. Glidden received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Tulane University in 1980, and a doctor of law degree from Florida State University in 1983. He is licensed to practice in Florida and Texas, and is a member of the American Bar Association as well as numerous bar associations in Florida and Texas.
Greg Maxwell
senior vice president, chief financial officer and controller
Maxwell previously served as vice president and controller for Chevron Phillips Chemical. He joined Phillips Petroleum Co. (now ConocoPhillips) in 1978 as a staff accountant in the comptrollers group. He held various positions within the comptrollers group until 1989, when he moved to corporate planning and development as a senior planning specialist. In 1991, Maxwell became a senior financial analyst in the corporate treasury department. He served as finance manager for Phillips chemicals division from 1992 to 1994 and as finance manager of the company's plastics division from 1994 to 1998. In 1998 he was appointed General Auditor for Phillips Petroleum Co. and served in that capacity until joining Chevron Phillips Chemical in 2000. Maxwell graduated from New Mexico State University in 1978 with a bachelor of accountancy degree. He became a certified public accountant in Oklahoma in 1981 and a certified internal auditor in 1998. Maxwell also serves on the Business Advisory Council at New Mexico State.
