Mark C. RohrMark C. Rohr

Chairman

Rohr was elected president and CEO effective October 2002 and assumed the additional role of Chairman in August 2008. Rohr joined Albemarle as executive vice president of operations in March 1999 and was named president and chief operating officer in January 2000. Before joining Albemarle, Rohr served as senior vice president, Specialty Chemicals of Occidental Chemical Corp. He resigned his position of CEO effective Sept. 1, 2011. He remains chairman of the board.

Luther (Luke) C. KissamLuther (Luke) C. Kissam

Chief Executive Officer

Kissam assumed the role of CEO effective Sept. 1, 2011. Kissam joined Albemarle in September 2003 as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and served as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Law, and Corporate Secretary from January 2008 until his promotion to President in March 2010. Prior to joining Albemarle, Mr. Kissam served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Merisant Company, having previously served as Associate General Counsel of Monsanto Company.

John M. SteitzJohn M. Steitz

executive vice president and chief operating officer

Steitz was elected executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company, effective April 2007. He is an industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in business management and administration activities. He joined Albemarle in July 2000 and has served in various roles of increasing responsibility during his tenure with the company. Prior to joining Albemarle, he served as vice president and general manager of pharmaceutical chemicals for Mallinckrodt Inc., a global provider of specialty health-care products and a business unit of Tyco Healthcare.

The company’s reputation for reliable, cost-effective supply of bromine and derivative chemicals reaches into markets as diverse as water treatment, oilfield services, and high-tech parts cleaning. It also produces potassium, aluminum oxide, and other chemical specialties for paint, paper, ceramic, glass and other industries.
