Company Information
Air Products was founded by the late Leonard P. Pool in 1940 on the strength of a simple, but then revolutionary, idea: the “on-site” concept of producing and selling industrial gases, primarily oxygen. At the time, most oxygen was sold as a highly compressed gas in cylinders that weighed five times more than the gas product. Pool proposed building oxygen gas generating facilities adjacent to large-volume gas users, thereby reducing distribution costs. The concept of piping the gas directly from the generator to the point of use proved sound and technically solvable.
Today, Air Products serves customers in technology, energy, health care, and industrial markets worldwide. It offers a unique portfolio of products, services, and solutions, providing atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, process and cryogenic equipment, and performance materials.
With annual revenues of $10 billion and operations in over 40 countries, Air Products’ 22,000 employees, corporate headquarters are located on a 600-acre campus in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, near Allentown; European headquarters are at Hersham, near London; and Asian headquarters are in Singapore, with offices in Tokyo and Hong Kong.

John E. McGlade
Chairman, President and CEO
McGlade was appointed president and chief executive officer of Air Products in October 2007 and chairman of the board in April 2008. In this role, he is focused on setting the strategy and policies of the company, developing leadership, and meeting shareholder commitments. McGlade joined Air Products in 1976 as a participant in the companys Career Development Program. He subsequently held various positions within the Industrial Gases Division, including both domestic and international assignments.

Paul E. Huck
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Paul E. Huck was appointed vice president and chief financial officer of Air Products in 2004 and assumed his current position as senior vice president and chief financial officer in October 2007. In this position, he is responsible for Air Products global finance organization. He also is a member of the companys Corporate Executive Committee. Huck joined Air Products in 1979 as a financial analyst in the financial planning department.

Merchant Gases
Air Products supplies oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium and hydrogen as well as certain medical and specialty gases to a wide variety of industrial and medical customers. We deliver most gases via bulk supply, by tanker or tube trailer, in liquid or gaseous form.
Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy
The company supplies large quantities of hydrogen, synthesis gas, carbon monoxide, oxygen and nitrogen, mainly to petroleum refining, chemical and metallurgical customers under long-term contracts. Air Products generally builds a facility adjacent to or nearby customers’ facilities and delivers product through a pipeline. Electronics and Performance Materials
Through its Electronics and Performance Materials business, the company provides material solutions to a broad range of global industries, leveraging expertise in chemical synthesis, analytical technology, process engineering and surface science. It also provides performance chemical solutions for the coatings, inks, adhesives, civil engineering, personal care, institutional and industrial cleaning, mining, oil field, polyurethane and other industries.
