ACS Taps Into The Chemistry of Beer and Brewing
Who says chemical industry events are boring? I have proof that this industry knows how to kick back, relax and have a good time. Case in point, The American Chemical Society (ACS) is hosting a webinar that I plan on attending: Tapping into the Chemistry of Beer and Brewing.
I have done my share of beer drinking and even tried my hand at brewing (well, actually I just watched my friends brew at the local microbrewery . . . I taste-tested the results from a previous batch they concocted.) So this event will prove most interesting to me. And it promises to be a short presentation followed by Q&A with speaker Charles Bamforth, Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting & Brewing Sciences at the University of California, Davis. He has been part of the brewing industry for over 32 years. (I plan on asking him if his career path falls under the adage: If you do something you love, it doesn't really feel like work.)
