Flow Meter Measures Up in Extreme Temperatures

The multi-function ST98HT flow meter measures air/gas mass flow rate, totalized flow and temperature in a single instrument and can handle a wide range of services at temperatures up to 850°F (454°C). With its precision temperature-compensated thermal mass flow sensing element and advanced electronics, the flow meter combines high performance with rugged packaging, ease of installation and low maintenance to reduce instrument total life-cycle costs. It is an insertion-style flow meter suitable for pipe sizes from 2.5 inches to 120 inches (63 mm to 3048 mm).

Contact-Cooled Compressors Deliver Increased Efficiency

Featuring a smaller, more cost-efficient footprint, simple installation and intelligent controls, these contact-cooled 125–200 hp ( 90-160 kW) compressors are said to provide operational longevity. The compressors maintain a steady 115°F (46°C) running temperature, which ensures greater tolerance of environmental influences that often create overheat events and nuisance shutdowns with other compressors. Their sickle-shaped blade design provides more efficient cooling by reducing drag while cutting noise emission. The compressors also boast an intelligent controller.

Metal-Seated Valve Boasts Removable Cartridge

The Cartridge Valve is claimed to have a revolutionary mechanical-seal design for critical service applications. The valve uses aspects of ball valves, gate valves, and even triple-offset butterfly valves to protect the sealing surface during valve operation. A tapered hemispherical closure member (the hemi) rotates around a fixed core and wedges into a fixed seat to affect a mechanical seal. The closure member is rotated a quarter-turn by a valve stem that may be operated manually with a wrench or gear operator or automatically with a pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuator. It features a constant fixed core within the body to provide protection of the seating surfaces when the valve is opened, as well as minimizing turbulence as the valve is either opened or closed. The cartridge design affixes all the valve’s internal parts (core, hemi, seat, stem, bushings) to the bonnet and may be removed by unbolting the bonnet fasteners and lifting the cartridge from the valve body.

Sensor Suits Wireless Network

The SureCross temperature and humidity sensor is optimized for use with the SureCross Wireless Network. The sensor is factory-calibrated to determine relative humidity to ±2% or ±3.5% (depending on model) and delivers temperature accuracy to ±0.3°C for simple critical data monitoring. Manufactured with a rugged metal housing and IP67 electronics, it provides maintenance-free operation in a wide variety of environmental monitoring applications. It has a proprietary serial sensor interface that enables the sensor and the wireless node to operate on a Flex Power battery supply for up to 20 years. Fixed and remote-mount node and sensor models enable a wide range of installation scenarios, including in-duct and freestanding applications.
