The API 547 is an energy-saving motor that meets the American Petroleum Institute’s Specification 547 requirements and has received the API’s “monogram of approval.” Designed for safe and reliable operation in severe duty applications, the motor is available from 250 through 3,000 horsepower in 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-pole speed configurations. The motor is said to be ideal for pump, compressor and fan applications. In addition, it can be manufactured to comply with specific customer requirements for critical duty motors.

Shaft Seal Relies on Water
The Water Mizer non-contact shaft seal uses water to seal. Its design includes a ½-in. waterline connection that attaches to a regulator to control the water pressure. A drain is located on the backside. The shaft “floats” on a water barrier directly on the shaft, which provides unlimited axial movement without placing any stress or strain on the product. Because it has no moving parts, the seal attains zero contact, zero wear and zero frictional drag.
