Here’s how to take advantage of what our Web site has to offer

From time to time, questions come up about the information we provide on the www.ChemicalProcessing.com Web site. This month’s column will attempt to shed some light on our, perhaps, lesser known offerings.

Q. Where can I find more information on products?

A. We definitely have a lot of product listings on www.ChemicalProcessing.com. We’re putting the finishing touches on our New Product Resource Center, which will include hundreds of products. All of the products will be searchable by category, manufacturer or product type. Images and contact information will also be made available so you can easily get more information about a particular product.

Q. How can I find an article that was in the printed version of the magazine?

A. Nearly all of the content printed in the magazine is posted to www.ChemicalProcessing.com (the exception being advertisements). To access the current month’s line up of articles, you’ll want to type www.ChemicalProcessing.com/issues/current.html into your search bar. If you’re looking for an older article, you can access our online archives (www.ChemicalProcessing.com/issues/index.html) or use our search bar to type in keywords related to your article topic.

Q. I don’t get the print version of the magazine. Is there another way I can read each month’s issues?

A. We offer a digital version of each month’s issue. To read the current month’s digital edition, type www.ChemicalProcessing.com/digital_edition into your search bar. To read a previous digital edition, access our online archives and select “Read the Digital Version.” The digital edition offers a number of benefits, including hot links for urls cited within the articles.

Q. Is there a way I can receive news briefs from www.ChemicalProcessing.com?

A. We offer at least five electronic newsletters: Chemical Processing E-News, Process Automation Insider, Fluid Handling Insider, Powder Handling Insider, a New Products Bulletin, as well as electronic alerts for recently published whitepapers and multimedia.

Q. Is there a way I can interact with other engineers or experts in my field?

A. ChemicalProcessing.com is home to several helpful and interactive tools. In our Ask the Experts portal (www.ChemicalProcessing.com/experts/index.html), we’ve brought together a wide range of leading authorities in fields such as combustion, compressors, data analysis, environmental protection, instrumentation and control, plant security, process development and process improvement. Not only can you read previously posted questions, you’re encouraged to pose your own questions. Our Process Puzzler section also is interactive (www.ChemicalProcessing.com/voices/process_puzzler.html). Every month, we reveal the results of the previous months’ question and offer anyone with an e-mail address or a P.O. Box the opportunity to suggest a solution for the current month’s puzzler.

As you can see, www.ChemicalProcessing.com is more than just a pretty face.
