No more turnaround headaches

Sept. 14, 2007
After the purchase of Enhanced Separation Technologies, Sulzer Chemtech USA now offers a more complete line of equipment and services for column repairs, maintenance and turnarounds.

With the addition of the mist eliminators to Sulzer’s existing portfolio of mass transfer equipment, mixers, consignment hardware warehouses throughout the U.S., and field services, Sulzer offers the broadest choices in the industry in both  equipment and services.

Says Patricia Bareis, national sales manager of Turnaround Services, “The Sulzer Team is committed to providing the best line of services in the industry, which is the major contributing factor to our success.  Sulzer employees are motivated and enthusiastic people who really CARE about their customers’ needs.”

That level of customer service is reflected in Sulzer’s multiple sales and warehouse facilities with tower hardware inventory in California, New Jersey, and Louisiana. Multiple locations enable the company to provide quick responses for turnaround needs. Says Bareis, “Planning scheduled turnarounds with our customers is more the norm, but there are certainly times when last minute or emergency needs occur, and we’re there within a couple of hours.”

Sulzer Chemtech also offers the customized, SHaRP software program for preplanning of material needs for customer turnarounds which could include mist eliminators, hardware, and random packing.

The company emphasizes the importance of defining the overall work scope with the  turnaround planners and maintenance personnel in advance so there will be no time wasted waiting for tray parts or equipment during the turnaround. “Managing the process is what we do best and is most cost effective for our customers,” says Bareis. “Our goal is to get it done right the first time!”

The company also places importance on educating customers properly about their equipment and services. They are available to set up “lunch and learn” training sessions at any facility with just a phone call.

Sulzer Chemtech Ltd. is a member of the Sulzer Corporation with headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland and is one of the leading technology and service providers for separation and mixing technology, disposable mixers and cartridges. Recognized as a world leader in the field of mass transfer, Sulzer Chemtech employs more than 1,800 persons worldwide and has facilities in most major industrial centers.
